Is iLearn down, or is it just me?

Like all technology, iLearn can sometimes seem to experience a technical hiccup, become slow or even go offline. But any number of things could actually be the cause of this – such as your broadband connection, or the wireless network on campus, or maybe Cookie Monster decided to break the internet.  Here are a few simple steps to work out what’s causing the problem.

iLearn Drop-in clinic success

Friday 27th Feb, 3pm saw the iLearn Drop-in clinic for Session 1 come to a close.

During the three weeks it ran, we saw a total of 201 staff members come through the doors and a few students too!

We had the usual gamut of questions, from how to set up an iLearn unit for the new session, to creating unit guides, making quizzes, setting up groups and the gradebook.  No question too small, question too big.

Heads up: UNITS improvements and outage times

UNITS, the Unit Guide system, will soon become part of iTeach.

Exciting news!  From Session 2, Unit Convenors will use iTeach to publish their Unit Guides and activate their iLearn spaces.

In order to prepare for the upgrade, UNITS will be unavailable for staff this Friday (29 May) afternoon from 12.00 to 5.00 pm and Wednesday 4 June from 12.00 pm to 5.00 pm. Unit guides will still be available for students and staff to view but staff will not be able to log in to edit or update their unit guides during these times. The iLearn Drop-in Clinic is jumping!

The doors of the iLearn Drop-in Clinic are open in 2014 and we are ready for business!

Come along and get all the help you need with iLearn, iTeach and UNITS for Session 1, 2014.  No need to register, just swing on by.

Come prepared and make the most of your time at the Drop-in:

  • If you are a new staff member, activate your ID before you come
  • Check that you have been allocated your teaching units in UNITS
  • Check that you have been allocated your teaching units in iTeach
