What Employers Want from STEM Graduates

Active learning, critical thinking and problem-solving are the most attributes most sought after by employers looking to take on STEM graduates, according to a report from the Office of the Chief Scientist.

“The paper draws on the results of a commissioned report and among a number of key findings, the survey found that their STEM employees were some of the most innovative workers, and highly valued their skills in active learning and critical thinking. However, employers highlighted difficulty recruiting STEM qualified people.”
