How to Join
You can join us on Tuesdays every month from 1pm-2pm from anywhere on or off campus in a Collaborate room. To register for a session use the Workshop Booking System for the Learning Design for the Digital Era or follow the links below. Once you have registered, you will receive an email with links to the iLearn unit that will provide more information about the webinar.
Join Fiona Nicolson as she explores some of the key principles in designing an engaging and aligned blended learning environment for students. She will look at some examples of iLearn units that use the online space for engaging students with course content, in addition to facilitating peer collaboration and reflection.
Join Victoria Taylor as she examines the principles of academic integrity. She will explore various strategies to address issues of academic integrity. Finally she will review alternative approaches to assessment to prevent academic issues from arising.
Join Lee Mowbray as she explains the concept of the ‘flipped classroom’ and provides some examples of how it is being implemented in Higher Education and at Macquarie University.
Communities of Inquiry
Join Fiona Nicolson as she explores how communities of inquiry can be established and supported in an online learning environment. She looks at examples of activities and tools that can be incorporated into the design of an online COI within iLearn. She will also consider how social media can be utilised to help students further their learning.
