Learning Skills for Staff and Students

The MQ Learning Skills Unit not only offers free workshops and support for students, but is also a valuable resource for staff. Workshops for staff are being run through the Learning and Teaching Centre’s workshop program.

Students can visit the Information Desk in the library foyer (12-2pm Mon-Fri) for quick, free advice on their academic work from onsite Learning Advisers.

Other services offed by Learning skills include:

  • Studywise

StudyWISEAn iLearn resource designed to help students with strategies and tips for successful learning, structuring different types of assignment and features of academic writing.

New students will be automatically enrolled in the resource (and will find the resource listed under Student Support on their iLearn homepage).  Continuing students can self-enrol in the module from the website.

  • Academic Integrity Module

A self-paced iLearn unit that helps students become aware of their responsibilities and rights concerning academic integrity. Through a series of interactive activities, videos and quizzes, students explore topics related to acceptable and unacceptable academic behaviour, ways to avoid plagiarism, and the University’s Academic Honesty Policy. Students can self-enrol in the module at the website.

  • Study Strategies Day
