From Saturday 30 May, the new stretch of University Avenue will open, and all traffic entering or leaving the campus via Herring/Waterloo Road will use this new road. Traffic will no longer be able to turn directly onto Research Park Drive from University Avenue, but will instead use the new roundabout to gain access. In addition, to help create a more pedestrianised space at the heart of the campus, Macquarie Drive and Eastern Road will be closed to the general public, and boom gates will be installed to allow access for disabled permit holders and University vehicles when required.
