Designing and facilitating for external students (Workshop 2 of 2)

Do you have external students in your unit? Do you think that your unit could be better designed for these students? Then why not make some time in early July on Monday 3rd of July and Wednesday 5th July to attend a two-part workshop on Designing and facilitating for external students.

In this second Designing and facilitating for external students (Workshop 2) you will:

  1. Discuss and experience different online facilitation styles.
  2. Review and reflect on your own facilitation style.
  3. Develop a facilitation style that best supports the teaching and learning outcomes of your unit.

Don’t forget to bring along a laptop so you can fully participate in the workshop. Also, don’t worry, lunch will be provided, so you can come during lunchtime!

Could assessment design improve student employability?

Graduate employability continues to be an area of concern in higher education, particularly as students face mounting debt arising from deferred university fees.  Exploring ways to improve student employability by embedding the development of skills within students’ learning experience has obvious benefits.  A model to support the redesign of assessments, embedding the development of skills and competencies could help.
