With the growing number of academic journals that scholars can publish in across the fields of Learning and Teaching (L&T), Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and L&T Higher Education policy, it is becoming more difficult to keep track of journals, let alone ascertain whether a journal is of a high scholarly quality.
As such, the new Wollongong Academy for Tertiary Teaching and Learning Excellence (WATTLE) have embarked on a project (Ethics Number HE14/294) to create a ranked list of the top journals in these fields to help scholars ensure that they are publishing in the best quality journals, as recognised by their peers. If you are interested in contributing to this project, please click on the link below which will take you to a short survey:
In order for this project to be successful, we are relying on scholars within these fields to give input regarding what journals they consider to be of high quality and worthwhile publishing in. By completing the survey, your response will help identify an initial list of journals within these fields, the editors of which will be subsequently contacted and surveyed in accordance with the Journal Evaluation Tool (JET) that was generated in 2009 (Crookes et al. 2010). This tool will inform a final ranking for the journals and this ranking will then be disseminated via the new WATTLE webpage. On completion of the survey, respondents are invited to leave contact details so that the list can be sent to them.
For further information, the Participant Information Sheet is available on the first page of the survey (before any questions are asked). Please complete this survey by Friday 22nd of August or your response may not be included in the data.
