Designing videos for learning – Workshop 30 June

Educational video is in a period of rapid growth for a variety of reasons.

Michael Rampe, LTC Educational Designer, will be presenting a workshop which will empower participants to look beyond lecture capture and talking head videos to the broader pedagogical possibilities enabled by modern educational media.

 

With form and content linked to purpose, various types of educational media will be presented and discussed – from demonstrations and interviews through to simulations and documentary style formats.

Based on ongoing research by the presenters, suitability of types to specific educational goals will be analysed in an interactive manner by the group broadening the educational media literacy of the attendees for deployment into their teaching practice.

There will also be a discussion and brainstorming session on designing modern assessment tasks that use video as the primary submission format in a variety of disciplines.
