Transformative Teaching via the ‘Why’ and the ‘How’ of Learning
September 28 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm| Free
Students are engaged and transformed by not just the ‘what‘ of learning, students need to be equipped and empowered with the ‘why‘ and the ‘how‘ of learning.
Prashan Karunaratne, Adjunct Lecturer in the Faculty of Business & Economics will share insights of how he adopts Macquarie University’s Learning & Teaching Strategic Framework to create a transformative learning & teaching experience both in and out of the classroom.
The workshop will also draw upon Prashan’s:
- PhD research on Threshold Concepts, and practically bringing these transformative lenses into your learning community – Engaging and transforming students by highlighting the ‘why‘ of learning.
- R.E.A.L. teaching framework; an acronym for a great practical scaffolding tool for your learning community – Engaging and transforming students by highlighting the ‘how‘ of learning.
You have to come to the workshop to find out what R.E.A.L. stands for! #everyonesaywow
This workshop will be counted towards TIP.
