“Students as Partners” was the topic of the first LTX event of the year (for those of you unfamiliar, LTX stands for Learning and Teaching Exchange), with a panel of Student Representatives from the Faculty of Business and Economics. LTX Event – ‘Student as Partners’ Panel

The faculty of Business and Economics in collaboration with the Learning Innovation Hub is proud to kick off the “Students as Partners” series of LTX events (for those of you unfamiliar, LTX stands for Learning and Teaching Exchange).  On March 21st, 1pm-2pm, a panel of student representatives from FBE will share their experiences in class – from group work to teaching delivery and student engagement. In the second half of the event, the audience is invited to ask questions and engage with the panel, so please bring along any burning questions you might have!

Mapping the terrain for first year students

Mazes have a certain allure to them, and they can be incredibly fun. For students in their first year, making their way through university is often akin to making their way through a maze.  However, it’s not as much fun because they are also juggling 5 balls, competing with 600+ other students, and trying to make friends at the same time.

KickStart – the next phase

Launched in 2014, the KickStart project has grown by leaps and bounds in the last 12 months. Brainchild of Prof Leigh Wood, Associate Dean L&T (FBE) and project managed by Dr Yvonne Breyer, L&T Director (FBE) the project started off with a two pronged objective: firstly, to allow students to get a feel for what they will be studying for the next 13 weeks; and secondly, to build connections between their prior knowledge and the course content, allowing them to contextualise the learning outcomes. The KickStart motto is: Plan – Prepare – Participate.
