A monthly iLearn digest by Gai.
Staring at iLearn for last 5 years day in day out, you start seeing things. Things that might be easily missed. So I thought of sharing some TnT (no I don’t mean the explosives) – Tips and Tricks in iLearn which might help with some of those annoying little issues you may have encountered in iLearn.
Here are two TnT for Turnitin:
Who is loving the new Turnitin V2? Albeit the small font sizes, I think Turnitin V2 is a good improvement to V1. But a nagging thing about it is that GradeMark isn’t selected by default when you want to grade a student’s paper.
In your iLearn Turnitin screen:
- Click on the Paper title to just view the submitted paper
- Click on the Pencil icon to open in GradeMark
- Click on the Similarity % to view the Originality listing.
Annoying Loading error:
Anyone encounter this error? This seems to happen with a certain Microsoft Word version files which has footnotes inserted.
Re-save the file as a PDF and re-submit to Turnitin. It is the quickest way to fix this issue. Also, place a ticket with iLearn.firstname.lastname@example.org, so that such issues can be reported back to Turnitin.
Do you have any iLearn related issue? Maybe we have a TnT for that.
I plan to share more TnT in the next newsletter. It would also be great to hear about your TnT on iLearn.
