Academic Promotions: October 2015 round

The due date for the final round of applications for Academic Promotion (all levels) in 2015 is Thursday, 1 October. Please ensure that applications are submitted to by 5pm EST on this day.

To submit an application for promotion, you will need to:

  • email your completed application (Application Cover Sheet & Checklist, Case for Promotion, CV Template and Discipline Report) to: by 5pm EST on Thursday 1 October 2015;
  • deliver your Sources of Evidence folder (hard copy) to:
    Building C5C, Level 4 Reception (entry is via stairs/lift on the western end of the building) by Thursday 1 October 2015; and
  • request your referees send their referee reports to: by Thursday 1 October 2015.  (If you are not sure which referee reports have been received, please contact Catherine L. R. McDonald on extension 4287).

Academic Promotion interview dates will be published on the Promotions webpage shortly after the due date, and applicants will be contacted directly if called for an interview. The relevant Academic Promotion templates and forms are located on the Human Resources webpage. Please familiarise yourself with the requirements set out in the Academic Promotion Policy and Procedure.

Academic Promotions Information Session: Applying made easy – Research Impact Data

To assist you with your academic promotion application, our University Librarians are offering an information session on research impact data, before the final round of promotions for 2015.  This session will show you how to effectively use and gather data from:

• Scopus,
• Thomson Reuters “Web of Science” and
• Google Scholar

The session will also look at alternative methods of collecting research impact data.
